Just about all recreational drugs can be tested at DIMS. DIMS is primarily founded to monitor the market of illegal substances. It is therefore possible to hand in illegal substances at DIMS facilities, without risk of prosecution. Given the nature of the substances, there are however certain restrictions and rules, these are found under \u201cWhat are the rules?\u201d<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drugs which can NOT be tested at DIMS:<\/span><\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Some drugs are not tested by DIMS, either because we can\u2019t accurately determine them chemically, or because we are not allowed to. The following substances can NOT be tested at DIMS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Weed and hash.<\/li>
  • Mushrooms<\/li>
  • Alcohol<\/li>
  • Precursors of drugs<\/li>
  • Medicinal substances*<\/li>
  • Steroids*<\/li>
  • Certain legal drugs*<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    No medicinal substances:<\/span><\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    DIMS is only allowed to test substances which are used recreationally, meaning that they are being used for their pleasant effects (or for the suppression of negative effects in the case of addiction). Substances used for medical purposes, meaning as alternatives for prescription drugs, are generally not tested by DIMS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    No steroids:<\/span><\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    DIMS cannot test steroids or other performance enhancing substances like pre-workouts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Legal drugs: no \u2018approved substances\u2019, only research chemicals.<\/span><\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Certain legal substances can not be tested by DIMS, specifically smartshop products. Smartshop products are legal products that are usually sold as dietary supplements, these products have been approved for ingestion and can be sold as such. DIMS does not test these products. There are also substances however which are legally sold that DIMS is allowed to test: the so-called Research Chemicals. Research Chemicals are substances for which no clear legislation exists: they have not been approved for consumption, but are also not prohibited to be sold. When these kind of substances are being used as a drug recreationally, DIMS will test them. Research Chemicals are recognized by the fact that they will specifically be sold as \u201cresearch chemical, or \u201cnot for consumption\u201d. If shops would sell them specifically for consumption, this would be a violation of the law. Examples for research chemicals are: 3-CMC, 2F-Ketamine, and 4-FMA.
